![]() ![]() Our rooms looked to be recently updated with LCD TVs and a nice modern design. They came with $10 match bets and several dining coupons, which we used for the Cafe and buffet. We received coupon books as part of our Travelzoo promotion. This made our rooms feel like a single large suite, which was perfect. We were able to get our keys within 10 minutes, and the front desk agent was able to find us 2 adjacent rooms, that were divided by a door. For $79/nt it was a much nicer room than I expected. We had a view of the top of the casino roof, but mostly just kept the curtains drawn. The a/c unit in one of our rooms was very leaky, so the carpet directly below was wet, but it wasn't a big issue. ![]() It was 110 degrees outside, but always comfortable in our rooms. These rooms do not have central a/c, but they have large wall units that worked well for us. ROOMS & CHECK-IN: After reading the Tripadvisor reviews, we were a bit concerned about the Carson Tower rooms, but found these to be clean, comfortable and spacious. After some deliberation, we picked the Nugget over Strip properties because of the Fremont Street location, price and pool. I had stayed at the Nugget several times 5-10 years ago, and always had pleasant experiences. I'm a former Vegas local, who recently took a trip back with 2 friends and my wife for her birthday.
